Day 7… I’m not machine and like every one after couple days off riding I need to rest my body. As I mention in my first post I’m working on some new interesting stories for SOFB Magazine. I spend day off the road bike in search of some interesting stories.
Fixed bikes are world wide phenomena and in every city you can find some people stoked about it. Mallorca is no different and in the city centre you can find two shops dedicate them. Alife has been around for more than 4 years. I spend some time chatting with owner of Alife about history of fixed bikes around Island and the current scene. What is really interesting that Guillermo Timoner, multiple world champion, is living in Majorca, in city of Felanitx. Him and his world wide domination, bring Track racing in Majorca on great level. In the 50’s almost every city in Mallorca have a Velodrome. I find this really intriguing and decided to find remains of this great era (look at my next post). Enough about the past, if you are looking to meet up with some folk, I suggest you come and see The Bike Lovers – Monday bike polo session, or Thursdays for the ride – 8pm around Plaça del Bisbe Berenguer Palou.
Really friendly crew!
