Ses Rotes

The 6 hectares of vines at Ses Rotes are located on the edge of the Serra de Tramuntana in a south facing direction. Being situated close to the sea and in a valley means the temperature 3 or 4 degrees cooler than the more traditional wine areas of Mallorca.

Our viticulture & winemaking follows the ecological guideline.

The Pinot Noir sits on the highest part of the estate, at 160 metres. The lower, flatter areas of the valley, are home to the other varieties – a mixture of indigenous, Mediterranean and International varieties: Callet, Garnacha, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc.

Philosophy

Our wines represent the spirit & lifestyle that we enjoy and have metaphorical roots to the history of Ses Rotes.
The love for our wines start in the vineyard.
By understanding the optimal grape and terroir combinations, we aim to create high quality, easy drinking wines.

Our Wines

Ses Rotes & 16 Hands Wines
Our easy drinking wines are included in the Ses Rotes range and the 16 Hands range is our more complex wines. The 16 Hands name comes from the world of showjumping – 16,2 hands is the perfect height of a showjumping horse. The current production volume is around 30.000 bottles per annum with the majority sold on the island to hand picked restaurants and hotels.

Our label
Designed by London artist Alexander Scarfe, The Lady on the Ses Rotes wine label represents the history of Andalusian parties in the 1960’s & 70’s.

“Whilst retaining the equestrian references, Alexander has stylishly captured the wonderful setting of Ses Rotes.  The striking illustration connects the fiestas of the past & the wine of the future.”
